Brief Biography

Dr. Beichen Qin is an Associate Professor at the School of International Relations and Research School for Southeast Asia Studies, Xiamen University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Tsinghua University. He received an MSc in Area Studies from Oxford and a BA in Economics from Manchester. His research focuses on Southeast Asian economies, international political economy, global industrial development, and Philippine studies. He has published extensively in leading Chinese academic journals and led policy-oriented research projects. He has conducted two years of fieldwork in Southeast Asia and undertaken academic visits to Ateneo de Manila University, the University of Malaya, and the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute. He was awarded the Tsinghua University Special Award, the university's highest honor for students.
